Provence Day 3 Avignon to Apt
Nearly bailed on the ride today as I felt dog rough this morning.. and not drink related !
I think I had a mini case of sun stroke from the day before.. but 15 mins into ride felt fine and nailed the ride.. all 1270 meters of climbing !
I definitely deserved my leg of lamb for dinner !

Venasque. Paul (nice top - where can I get one !) directing traffic at the lunch stop in Venasque. Venasque, classed as one of "The Most beautiful villages of France".. medieval heritage, old stones, narrow cobbled lanes and esplanade.
Gordes.. built on the foothills of the Monts of Vaucluse, facing the Luberon. The houses and buildings are made of white stone, rooted into the sharp cliff of the mountain. The cobblestone street are a narrow labyrthinth of "calades". Lavender ice cream is a speciality of the area but I didn't try any.
Roussillon.. is famous for its magnificent red cliffs and ochre quarries. The red, yellow and brown shades of the earth form a striking contrast with the lush green pinetrees. The vivid blue of the Provencal sky and the exceptional quality of light make this a magical site.
And there's a big hill to ride up !
